Lacrosse schedule change

Special schedule for next week shown below.  We have more days and times.  The soft stick day will be a game day using the USLacrosse soft stick rules after the youth practice. Great way to learn about the game and have fun. We used these early on at a Try Lacrosse session and everyone had a blast. Pass the word. If you were to attend any Try Lacrosse event then this would be it.  Here is a video link about the soft lacrosse game.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cFOIjKp85k

Lacrosse Pre-season sessions

Here is the preliminary preseason schedule.  The focus of the pre-season sessions is skill development, conditioning and basic positioning.  14U players may attend the high school sessions.  The youth sessions will be for all non high school players.  We will divide players up as needed and will add more practices once we have obtained more gym space.  The expectation from the coaching staff is that players will attend these sessions unless they are in a winter sport or have conflicts on those days.  The season starts right after spring break, so its imperative that players are prepared from the onset.

Please note the Try Lacrosse dates in the schedule.  We will be adding additional dates.

Youth Lacrosse News

The club is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from USLacrosse for the middle school/14U teams for the 2020 season. Our goal is to be able to provide equipment to players to reduce the cost of participation and put us in line with the other school sports like football that offer protective equipment for players.  We will have more information on the grant in the coming weeks.

Columbus Lacrosse Club has received approval to have club teams affiliated with Northside and Central middle schools for the 2020 season. Players will play under their school names like the high school programs. Similar to other middle school sports, students from St Peters will play at Central and students from St Bartholomew will play at Northside. We will put together a youth committee to address placement of players that are not affiliated with any of the schools. This is a great opportunity for the schools, the students as well as will help as a feeder system for the high school teams but more than anything else legitimizing lacrosse as a sport in Columbus.
